Cloghane Brandon is based in the Gealtachta area on the Northern sore of the Dingle Peninsula. Mount Brandon is the back drop to the two villages’s which runs down into the Wild Atlantic Ocean, where the surf is wild in Brandon Bay, perfect for bass fishing, surfing, wind surfing and a swim when the water gets warm. Cloghane Brandon region is surely one of the great beauty spots of the world.
Comharchumann Forbartha an Leith Triúigh Teoranta was founded as a co-operative company in 1973 with the primary aim of putting in place facilities and amenities in the local area of Cloghane and Brandon in order to develop a secure economic, social and cultural future for the region. Comharchumann Forbartha an Leith Triúigh Teoranta has played a pivotal role in the development of the area ever since and is widely-recognised as an important local resource.
Cloghane Brandon has so much to offer we have Bácús Bakery in Cloghane village across from the Church in the Siopa (shop), Bácús produces a freshly range of breads from soda to sourdough and cinnamon rolls to name a few.
Our local shop is the heart of the community for a small area it’s very important to have the shop, this is where you will meet all the charters of the community getting there milk or paper.
A fine selection of wall marked trails through the Cloghane Brandon Mountains has made the area a favourite destination for hillwalkers. Walks range from short shoreline strolls to the high level on Brandon Mountain ridge.
Fishing in the Cloghane Brandon, there is a choice between shore angling at Cappagh and Formoyle or casting for trout in the magnificent Ownenmore River. Brandon Pier do be alive with marceial fishing when the tide is right. Brandon Pier is a huge attraction to young teenagers when the tide is high for jumping off the pier or if they are brave enough to take on the high wall. A local playground for the younger children is located behind Halla Le Cheile on your way up to Club Spóirt Clochán Bréanainn pitch.
